After more study the answer was discovered: it is Ikigai – to live your life with purpose. When you wake up each morning with a purpose your life is energized and elongated. So, what then is the actual purpose of life then? The answer is growth. And that comes in many forms: e.g. knowledge, contribution, career, sport and fitness, parenting, relationships.
To take it one more step, the purpose of growing is to better serve others. Who else benefits from your growth: your family, friends, colleagues, clients, teammates. The final step in this life equation is that serving others is empowering to you, and that feels good, and our feelings and experiences are our life.
